Fashion's Night Out in Orlando

It might not be New York, Milan, or Paris but Mall at the Millenia in Orlando sure knows how to celebrate Fashion’s Night Out. I made it to Neiman Marcus right on time for the fashion show and even managed to grab some seats before they were all taken. The styling was beautiful, of course. They featured some great fall trends: mixed greens, versatile jackets, navy paired with blacks and brights, menswear influenced pieces fitted for women, and (my favorite) digital prints. Sigh, if only I had an endless supply of money.

After the fashion show ended (and after my friends convinced me that walking down the runway like if I were a model was probably not a good idea), we headed to the tasty treats of FNO. They had a dessert bar and a strange desert wall where you could pluck your brownie or cake straight out of a painting –artistically delicious! There was complimentary Italian food, champagne, beer, and soft drinks to get your belly nice and round to make trying on clothes even more challenging. The Orlando Ballet was also there taking photos in elegant clothing and striking poses that would appear ridiculous on my blog but somehow seem perfectly normal if they do it. And to think that this was just the beginning of the festivities!

A quick note about my outfit: I can’t get enough of this dress that I bought in Puerto Rico at Valija Gitana. It’s my new favorite boutique that unfortunately does not exist in Orlando. A piece like this is essential because I can wear heels and dress it up for night or wear flats to make it a day outfit. The faux-leather jacket had been on my wish list forever and I finally found this one for $25 on HauteLook!! But the really surprising part of my outfit is the pumps. I found them brand new with tags at Good Will for $5. Now THAT’S some serious thrifting.

Did you celebrate Fashion’s Night Out this year?
