Can you believe it? Iris Focused on Fashion turns six months old today. Wow, how time flies! Reflecting back on those early days, I’m struck by how much this baby blog misbehaved – refusing to follow the simplest of instructions, acting out by posting in outrageous fonts, refusing to stay on deadline. Alas, this blog has grown up and I’m no longer an intrepid new momma, we’ve grown up together.
In these last six months I’ve learned a lot, not just about my sense of style but about myself. I have a better idea of who I am as a fashion lover and blogger and this awareness has inspired me to make a few changes around here. Between now and the big one year anniversary, expect to see some new features pop up. Just a few little surprises to keep things fresh and interesting. I hope you all enjoy!
And because I have this fabulous new party dress to go with this fabulous milestone, I’m throwing a virtual party and inviting all of you! My amazing readers: you have taught me so much and have been so much fun to get to know. Come on in, let me make you a drink, have a piece of cake, and let’s play outside! This blog, this party, would be nothing without you.
To my husband: thank you, for your continuing encouragement, bottomless support, and contagious excitement. Thank you for picking up the camera, scouting out “good photo spots” and spending an afternoon patiently and calmly chasing after balloons for this photo shoot.
To my cousin, Cristina: thank you for not just editing my posts but always trying to teach me to be a better writer. I admire your skills and I can’t wait for you to start your own blog!
To my friend, Alex (www.alexinorlando.com): who would have thought I’d be here from the afternoon you said, “You should start a fashion blog!” and I said, “A what?” Thanks for opening my eyes to a world I didn’t know existed and for having the patience to teach me about blogs and how they work.
